Clixel Canada's professional computer technicians and consultants provide upgrades, maintenance and repairs to PC and Macintosh computers in our Service Area or at your home or office. We also provide presale advice whether for home use or for a multi-location business.
Clixel is an Apple Authorized Reseller and Service Provider. We are also an Authorized Hewlett-Packard Business partner providing high quality servers, network hardware and printers.
We strive to perform our service work as quickly as possible for all of our customers and process work orders in the order they are received. We do, however, give priority service to customers that earn their livelihood with their computers.
In order to achieve the fastest turnaround, please be aware that you will need to bring or provide the following with your computer or computing device when you ask for a repair:
- Power adaptors for laptops.
- Power cables for desktop computers if they are non-standard (some models of iMac and Mac Pro computers)
- Cables for any peripheral devices involved in the repair.
- Software or Operating System Installation CDs and License Keys if reinstallations are potentially required.
- User or Administrator logon passwords.
- Your contact information (phone number(s), address, email address, postal code)
- Whether or not your data has been backed up.
- A description of the problem or work requested - as detailed as possible.
The actual duration of a repair is highly dependent on the operations required to be performed. Some operations (like diagnostic scans, copying of data, installation of Operating Systems and updates) take several minutes to several hours to complete, so we need to allow time for them. If you need an estimate of the duration of a repair, please don't hesitate to ask. Rest assured that we only charge for the time we spend actually working on your computer and not for time spent doing those time consuming operations.
If you are unsure of what is causing the problem with your computer or the cost effectiveness of performing a repair, please be sure to ask for a "Half-hour Assessment". We will assess your computer, advise you of our estimate to perform the repair and give you our opinion of the repair's cost effectiveness for your system. If we can repair the problem within the half-hour assessment, we'll do that.
We will do repairs and upgrades to computers at your home or office, but some types of work can be done more efficiently and cost you less if we do the work at our office “On-the-Bench”. Data copies, virus and spyware scans or lengthy hardware tests can take several minutes to several hours to complete. If done “On-the-Bench” our technician can work on several systems at one time and we will only charge you for the time spent specifically working on your system. If done “Onsite”, our technician cannot perform other work and, therefore, you will be charged for the full time our technician is at your location.
While not as convenient, it may be possible to save money by bringing in your computer or asking us to pick it up to perform the repair. Due to the potential involvement of peripherals or your internet connection this may not be possible, so please discuss the options with our Customer Service representative when making the service request.
